"Numbers please! - Why do we need more math "


giftedness Press The Federal Mathematics Competition will be 40 - and celebrates a day in Berlin, the world of numbers. Jubilee Guest are Germany's most famous mathematician, successful competition participants and prominent math fans. They say, "Please Pay!" - And discuss on Monday 28 March, with interested guests about the importance of mathematics and mathematical education funding.

The Anniversary Symposium in Berlin by 13 clock starts at the Deutsche Bank, Frederick Hall, Unter den Linden. The event will look back education & talent not just on 40 years of national competition. The view looks to the future: In times of global networking mathematicians are in demand like never before. But what does this mean for education? How can teaching and learning be made more attractive? These issues are already in the opening Talk Focus - with among others Klaus Kinkel (German Telecom Foundation), Andreas Schlüter (Donors' Association for German Science) and Susan Schmidt (Federal Ministry for Education and Research).

"numbers please!" Is a celebration of education and talent, an initiative of the Donors' Association for German Science, funded largely by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. Generali Holding AG, Germany supported the national competition in mathematics as the main sponsor.
